Genesis Assistance Dogs are beautifully bred Golden Retrievers from Championship bloodlines. Our dogs are typically more structurally sound than dogs who are bred to be family pets. Our selection of dogs is of the highest standards because it is vital that our dogs are physically able to tirelessly perform their important duties. Health clearances are sought for: heart, hips, eyes, and elbows. All mobility assistance dogs selected for training and placement are temperament tested.

Genesis Assistance Dogs exercise extreme care and attention to the process of matching each of our dogs with the clients to match the skill of the dog with the need of the client. In addition, special attention is given to the personality of the dog and the client- all to make sure they are a perfect fit. The process starts with an initial intake application, meeting with our trainer, dogs and Board, followed by a lengthy second
more specified application to determine how best Genesis dogs can accommodate the candidate. The training of a Genesis dog starts at birth and can cost more than $30,000 and can take up to two years because the training of the dog begins only after a
potential candidate is identified. Each person has specific needs with their dog that may require specialized training. Once the training is completed, the dog is entrusted to the person free – and a new and more independent life can begin.
