Since its establishment in 2006, the CYP has directly impacted over 2000 Caregiving Youth and their families. In addition to serving 443 children and their families, our Lunch and Learn activities impact more than 8000 students and staff.
The uncertainty of the future remains to be a source of stress for many of our families who are coping with the pandemic's repercussions, nevertheless with CYP's assistance, 98% of our students graduated from high school and/or advanced to the next grade level. Student success eliminates another source of anxiety for our families.
Our incredible team of staff and volunteers connected with collaborators to reconstruct a mold-infested kitchen, equip a student living with his grandmother with new bedroom furniture, supply food deliveries, new footwear, school supplies, new laptops, and bicycles throughout this period.
The AACY continues to be the leading authority on youth caregiving in the U. S. Some of its work is being replicated in other states through affiliate ties and national collaborations. Additionally AACY is involved in research to document and disseminate the impact of its initiatives.
